Could more face-to-face listening improve empathy and our ability to resolve disagreements in the world? The International Day of Listening serves primarily to call attention to the importance of and benefits from listening in our lives and to encourage people to re-engage in this significant means of relating to other humans.
The theme of the International Day of Listening is “Listening Makes Us More Human”. Listening events and activities will be featured all over the world. From one-on-one conversations among friends to promoting discussions among those living in countries in conflict. On our website you will find activities that have been designed to be used in education, personal and professional situations.
Its intent with the International Day of Listening is to increase awareness of the value of listening and provide resources to help people develop better listening skills.
